UPDATE: Almost 12 Weeks Into Invisalign
At my 11-week checkup, I had IPR (interproximal reduction) done. I knew it was coming at some point, but I didn't realize it would be at this appointment, so I was a little nervous. To my surprise, the process of creating tiny spaces between my teeth was completely painless.
Several measurable changes:
- My upper teeth are beginning to slightly overlap my lower teeth as they should instead of sitting directly on top of them.
- My open bite is closing.
- An upper tooth toward the back on my left side that had been shifting too far inward for years is now moving outward.
- An upper tooth on my left side that was constantly being hit by a lower tooth is no longer experiencing that contact.
- Both my upper and lower arches are becoming broader and more U-shaped rather than V-shaped.
- But the most surprising change is one I didn't notice until looking at my teeth from the side. The gum area above my two upper front teeth, which previously appeared more prominent, now looks noticeably flatter and less pronounced. I have no idea how my Invisalign trays managed to accomplish this, and I wasn't expecting this change, but I absolutely love it!
Again, I've only been in Invisalign for about 12 weeks, and I've already seen improvements in my teeth and bite that I didn't expect to see so soon. All I'm doing on my end is wearing my trays 22+ hours a day, using my chewies for at least 15 minutes a day, and wearing an elastic band overnight. That's it!
8/25/26-One Month Into Invisalign
The first couple of weeks were challenging as I struggled to remove my trays and even considered switching to traditional braces, but I eventually found my rhythm and settled into a routine. Dr. Jared and his team have been wonderful, patient, and reassuring, and I was already noticing changes in my teeth within the first month!

I was a patient here a couple of years ago and now my daughter is too! Dr. Jared and his staff are amazing to work with. They take the time to understand what you are dealing with and work with you to develop a treatment plan that works for you. I ended up wearing my Invisalign for an additional 9 weeks to fix a few minor things and it was not a big deal or an additional charge.
I’m so happy with the outcome and am no longer insecure about my bottom teeth. My bite is also much more comfortable.
My daughter has had an expander and lower braces. It’s helped tremendously with her jaw and bite alignment. She’s now in a retainer at night. We will reevaluate things once her permanent teeth are in and decide if she will have a second round of braces.
And we will be taking my son to Dr. Jared to address his bite as he gets a bit older. We cannot recommend Dr. Jared enough, and we already have. ☺️ Our neighbors also go here now!
Dr. Jared and his team are amazing! We came to Mint Hill Orthodontics for a 2nd opinion after being told by another orthodonist office that our son would need 2 sets of braces over the next several years to correct a cross bite he had.
When we came to Dr. Jared the experience was different. He said we should wait and give it time because a lot of times when the permanent teeth come in they come in different and the problem self corrects. He said this of course isnt always the case, but he'd suggest we wait and see vs spending a ton of money for something that may not be necessary. So we waited and guess what, it self corrected! And not only did we not need 2 sets of braces, his teeth came in so straight we need zero braces! Wow!! Saved us a ton of money and the time and trouble of what 2 sets of braces would have meant to our son. Thank you, Dr. Jared and team would highly recommend!!

I transferred to Mint Hill Orthodontics after moving from California. The transition was very seamless and easy! They took the records from my previous orthodontist and continued my treatment without any hassle or surprise added timelines. Each visit, I am heard and each concern, if any, is addressed and talked about. Definitely would recommend to friends and family in the area!
Dr. Little was very compassionate, gentle, and explained things thoroughly while keeping his language accessible and easy to understand. Lacie, Nicole, and Melanie (I may have misheard her name, sorry!) are all angels, I met them at various points in the process. I am an advocate and very close friend of someone who had been trapped in braces for nearly 10 years- this team handled a delicate and often shameful-feeling situation flawlessly.
They're quick, effective, and took the time to explain what best next steps would be for my loved one's road to recovery- they even recommended several nearby dentists for ongoing care and recommended a timetable for next steps. They also texted because I forgot that we wanted to keep the brackets etc- I forgot them! The team held them for me, which was a small detail but was nonetheless appreciated.
I will certainly be recommending them to my friends in the area if they have a need- it is nice to know of a provider who respects the LGBTQ+ community- they were on point with my loved one's pronouns & name, even when she wasn't present. She was brushing her teeth after the removal, and all I heard from Dr. Little and Nicole was respect & compassion.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
If you're looking for a smile upgrade without any stress, this is the place. They're incredibly professional, friendly, and thorough, making every step easy. Even the financing conversation was painless. Plus, their genuine care and regular check-ins make you feel like you're their only patient. I highly recommend. I’ve always had a great experience. Appointments are efficient and stress-free. The staff is very attentive and professional, and the office is clean, beautiful, and aesthetically pleasing. Very friendly office, great team, and Dr. Jared is fantastic. When we moved to the area from Waxhaw, they got us in and helped my daughter and I figure out the next steps for phase 2 braces. My son started seeing Dr. Jared for an expander to expand his pallet, and that has also gone smoothly. We would recommend this office to anyone. I broke my permanent retainer off my bottom teeth and they were able to get me in next day for a quick glue removal. It was such an easy, painless process and the whole team was so nice! I would definitely recommend someone to this ortho office!
Absolutely love this place!!! Since the first visit they have been nothing short of professional, friendly, and accommodating. Got braces for my 15 year old son and it was the easiest process ever. They made everything convenient from the payment plans to aftercare and follow up visits. Every time I visit the office there is some sort of office entertainment/theme. Example: for Mother’s Day I received a rose and for Halloween the staff dressed up as Minions and had snacks in the lobby. I have a 5 year old as well and she will definitely be a client when the time comes.
